Xbox System Player plays files Tversity fails on

@Bathosfear wrote:

Using vanilla Xbox 360 system player and DLNA I can play some video files that if I try to play using Tversity error out or have grayed out icon. Mostly MKV files (evidently I didn't notice the update which allowed this) but occasional MP4. I've also had some files (both) that Tversity simply won't display at all, even with grayed-out icon, but system player sees and plays just fine. I've tried refreshing the database, and I have transcoding turned off completely.

I'd basically like Tversity to show all video files on my Xbox and let it decide if it can play them. Is there a setting for this?

Hello folks,

I am new to Tversity.

I can't seem to find a straightforward answer to create a "recently added" menu to my music library.

I currently have a purchased Tversity Media Server Pro 3.8 installed.

I need a very newbie/basic explanation. I know how to open a config file in notepad.

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Is there a an option for a list view instead of icons? I use Tversity for my very large music collection, and a list view would be much easier to navigate.

Am I missing it somehow?

Problem connecting to the server

@noisekraft wrote:

I have been using Tversity for a while now (Pro version) it was originalkly installed on my PC 6 months ago on windows 8.1, I updated to windows 10 about a month ago and Tversity worked just fine.

Yesterday out of the blue while trying to start a film for the kids (it streams to a PS3 and XBox One) I get hit with this message:

"Could not connect to the server, please start sharing to continue"

I dissabled my firewall, checked shared status of the folders, ran it with admin rights etc..but still no joy.

The trouble is is that I am stuck in a loop where I cant get to the Tvertsity options because of popup windows telling me about how it cannot connect to the server.

Please help.

Panasonic TV support

@bezousek wrote:

Hello,

I bought the TVersity screen server recently but I cannot run it on my panasonic tv TX-55AS650E. I tried to set device to majority of options (mainly Sony Bravia, PS3 and Xbox360 as I read somewhere) but nothing works. It alwyas says unsupported file format. My TV is quite new (1 year old) so I was hoping it can handle it.

Second problem is when I am running it on my blue ray player Pioneer BDP-170-K its somehow lagging, even if I set lower resolution and speed settings instead of quality.

I believe my TV would process it better but I am not able to watch real time (like sports stream) on both devices.

Thanks for support

No Thumbnails on Smart TV

Hi,
I tired out the free TVersity Version 3.8. on Windows 8. My Samsung JU 7090 is connected to the server, but shows no thumbnails of the photos or the videos. I only want to see the folders of my media hard disk. So I choose "Files and Folders" in the settings.

On my Android Phone I can see the thumbnails in the BubbleUPnP app. Why not on my Smart TV? Is this a known issue?

Thanks

Important delay with Screen Server

@Polochon94 wrote:

Hello,

I just installed the free trial of Screen Server 1.2 on my Windows 7 64 bits to try it on my Samsung SmartTV and all works fine (detection, video quality) but I am experiencing a huge delay (between 5 and 8 secondes).
I would like to know if there is a way to reduce that delay (making TVersity unpractical if I want to stream my PC games from my desktop to my TV, for example).

Between my laptop and this TV are my two Power-line plugs with a 125Mbps practical bandwith and I don't see any CPU bottleneck according to the Windows Ressource Monitor when streaming is on. So the problem does not apparently come from there.

My Screen Server settings are :
- Transcode : when needed
- Optimize for : Quality
- Compression : High
- Max Bitrate : 30 Mbps
- Image Resolution : 1920*1080
- Video Resolution : 1280*720

Thank you!

I have Tversity PRO installed. I have DirecTV with DVR box. When I go to the DirecTV and go to Extra it shows My Computers, then myserver:tversity twice. Open up first one and it shows the Audio - Photos - Video - Tags. click on Audio and it shows my music rest of options are empty.

Second occurance of Tversity does not appear to have any links to my server.

  1. Try to play a video and it seems to be trying to load it then says video can not be played. Video came off of Youtube.
  2. I have Youtube set up in the internet setup area with my user id and password. Where do I find my access to Youtube within Tveristy? Need some screen shots in the setup guide.

Running Windows 10

Trouble transcoding FLAC to MP3 on Ps4

@Dalonomus wrote:

Alright. Ive had Tversity for years for use with my Xbox360 specifically for its ability to transcode flac to to whatever in the the 360's case PCM. Ive upgraded to 3.8 and for the 360 at least it still works great in this regard. However the media player for the PS4 supports only mp3 and AAC audio so tversity tries and fails most of the time to transcode to mp3 usually stopping after the fist few seconds. Naturally this means no playback on the media player side of things. Of course a few 2 second files worked but not immediately so i guess its working somewhat. My question is am i missing something in the setting or maybe this PC i s a little too old to transcode mp3 real time. I find that unlikely though. Any help would be appreciated.

PC specs are

XBox One and XBox 360 Connecting

@arkay wrote:

Hello,

I've been a Pro user for several years now and recently tried to connect my old XBox 360 up to stream to a different TV. Here were my results: (Note: I was not streaming to both devices at the same time)

TVersity Settings Device Set to XBOX One
- XBOX One works fine but the 360 does not detect the TVersity media server at all.
- PS3 works fine too...

TVersity Settings Device Set to XBOX 360
- XBOX 360 works fine but the One does not detect the TVersity media server at all.

TVersity Settings Device Set to Auto
- XBOX 360 works fine
- XBOX One sees the videos but when I try to play one I just get a blank screen on the TV.

Anyone know the best setting for both? Anyone tried this?

Thanks

I've been getting this error every few seconds in the server messages area. I'm currently not streaming anything through Tversity, so I'm not sure if it gets this error only when it's on standby. I'd like to fix whatever is causing it. Does anyone know anything about it or have suggestions on what I can do to fix it?

I did see one other post with this error but it didn't really answer it for me. They mentioned something about Tversity being unable to log something. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :slight_smile:

Is there a way to get hold of an older version?

@rohosub wrote:

Hi.
I just downloaded the 3.8 version and installed it but I can't get it to work like my "old" 3.0.

Issues I'm unable to solve are:
1. I'm unable to access my NAS drives. Can't figure out how to gain access to the UNC-paths. The troubleshooting FAQ is incredibly vague as to how to solve this.
2. Can't figure out how to restrict access to only a few devices. This was working like a charm in 3.0.

Is there a way to get hold of the Pro 3.0 installation file?
I would like to set it up as my previous installation.

Media folders still show on devices after deleting them from Tversity

@iris18 wrote:

I have made some folder shortcuts in the Tversity program.
We'll call them Video1, Video2, Video3, Video4.
All folders show in my devices (bluray player, xbox, ps4), no problem.

Well I deleted folders Video3 and Video4 from Tversity, and created folders Movies1, Movies2 because those were more useful than the Videos3 and Videos4 folders.

But now, ALL of the above folders still show up in devices, even though they're no longer listed in the Tversity program.

So where I want my devices to only list out folders Video1, Video2, Movies1, Movies2...
It still lists Video1, Video2, Video3, Video4, plus Movies1, Movies2.

Is there any way to make the devices stop showing these extra folders I don't have listed in Tversity anymore. I would prefer to have the fewest folders to scroll through on my devices (for ease and speed) but these older folders remaining makes it far more difficult. I'm afraid to just add them back and change them in case it duplicates.

TLDR: Folders still show in devices even though I deleted those folder sources/shortcuts in the Tversity program.

Unable to connect to server after Windows 10 update

@crvgt wrote:

After upgrading to latest Windows 10 build (16278rs3), i was unable to connect to the media server. Could not edit the settings in the Tversity interface as the pop up window kept appearing trying to connect - would be good if that could be turned off. I uninstalled Tversity, hoping to reinstall it, but i cannot reinstall it. I keep getting errors that read "error opening for writing". I chose both "retry" and "ignore", but it happens for every file it tries to install,

Any ideas?
